Specialty Coffees truly shine at a Medium Roast level and our La Minita Costa Rica coffee is no different. However, this coffee can tolerate a darker roast as well. The darker the roast level, the less prominent the flavors unique to that coffee, especially the lighter and more acidic flavors - in this case that tasty, light citrus finish. This can sometimes create a coffee that is flat, two-dimensional and uninteresting. However, a Medium-Dark roast can preserve the more prominent flavors while still leaving a hint of that acidic charm, leaving us with a slightly more robust, yet still balanced and delicious brew.

More Coffee:

Our coffee pods contain anywhere from 25 - 50% more coffee* than typical single serving pods. This means you get a much bigger bang for your coffee buck as well as a lot more flavor. Or, if you prefer, a larger mug!

Better Coffee:

We roast only the highest grade of coffee, Specialty Coffee, which represents the top 10% of all coffee sold in the world. Don't be misled by marketing terms like "Gourmet Coffee" (which has no definition) or Premium Coffee (think Starbucks) which is a lesser grade than Specialty.

Until now, the single serve market has focused on convenience rather than flavor and enjoyment. As a result, lower grade coffees are mass produced and mass marketed for mass appeal in giant, eye-catching containers at the lowest possible price. Customers end up with cheap (but convenient) coffee at a cheap price. As a caffeine delivery system, it works well. But, if you're a coffee lover, it's a bad deal.

Now, single serve convenience is finally available for true coffee lovers and you'll never have to sacrifice quality for convenience again. Our single serve customers are often surprised to find themselves drinking much more coffee than they're used to. The reason? According to them, it's because they're actually enjoying their coffee. Our coffee is roasted to order and hand-packed into our uniquely designed, patented and fully recyclable coffee pods in less than 3 hours, and then shipped the very next day**. Most single serve coffee on the market sits for up to a week or more to allow it to "off-gas" CO2. Packaged too soon, standard pods may actually burst if the coffee is too fresh! And it's anyone's guess just how long those finished pods sit in the warehouse or on the shelf before you actually buy them because, in reality, "freshness" or "best by" dates have no actual meaning. With our coffees, you'll know exactly how fresh they are because we stamp the roast date on every box and bag.
